289.jpg

Mrs. Leonard grew up in Carroll County, Virginia where she graduated from Carroll County High School.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Virginia Intermont College and a Master's degree in Special Education from Old Dominion University; however, because of her passion for mathematics education, Mrs. Leonard pursued and obtained her endorsement to teach middle school math.

Mrs. Leonard began her teaching career at Grayson County Public School’s Independence Elementary in 2001 as a Special Education teacher. In 2005, she was hired as a special education teacher at Galax High School. While at Galax High School, she primarily co-taught in the inclusion math settings which included such classes as Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Algebra Functions and Data Analysis, and Computer Math. Mrs. Leonard presently teaches seventh grade math at Galax Middle School.
