Dr. Legg is originally from Dublin, Virginia and attended Pulaski High School where she graduated in 1988.  She went on to Radford University where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992, her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in 1997, and her Master of Science in Educational Leadership in 2002.  She earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech in 2015.

Dr. Legg taught 6th and 7th grades at Pulaski Middle School for five years. From Pulaski Middle, she obtained the assistant principal’s position at Galax Elementary School and served in this position for three years.  Dr. Legg moved to Galax Middle School where she was principal from 2005 – 2015. Dr. Legg returned to Galax Elementary School in 2015.

“I really enjoy working for a small school system that is truly a community of learners.  From the elementary to middle and high, we see each student as “our” student, no matter which school the child attends.  This division is truly supported by the City of Galax, the School Board, central office, the community in which we live, our parents and students.  I often tell the faculty and staff in this division how fortunate I am to work with such a caring group of individuals who are like family.  I am proud of our schools, especially of our students,” says Legg.
