Mrs. Pam Bray - Economics and Personal Finance

Mrs. Bray grew up nearby in Wytheville, VA. She graduated from George Wythe High School in 1971. Her first two years of college were at Wytheville Community College where she earned an A.A. in Liberal Arts and was a member of the student council. She traveled to Guam with her first husband and lived there 2 years. She worked for a Japanese company and attended the University of Guam where she studied art. Back in the United States, she attended WCC again and earned an A.A.S. in Drafting and Design Technology. Her second year she was president of the student body. She then remarried and was a stay-at-home mom until her two daughters were ages 3 and 4.  She commuted to Radford University and received a B.S. in Mathematics with a teaching certificate. She was awarded Outstanding Mathematics Senior in 1988.  That fall she came to teach at Galax High School. She enjoyed working with the juniors on their proms for 18 years. She also taught night classes in the Adult Diploma Program until that program ended. She has taught several classes at the Governor's  Summer School at WCC. Mrs. Bray obtained her Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Virginia is 2007. She is a member of the GEA, the VCTM, NCTM, and ADK;a local branch of an international sorority for female teaching professionals. Mrs. Bray's hobbies included board games and dolls, but she has now spends her extra time with her 2 granddaughters.
