Mrs. Larkin Conley

Larkin Conley grew up in Lynchburg, VA. She received a B.S. in Secondary Education (English) from Radford University and attended Lynchburg College for post-graduate studies. In addition, she is a Graduate and Graduate Assistant of The Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Speaking and Human Relations and has served as a motivational speaker for several Mary Kay events. She has over 20 years of classroom instruction experience. It began with 2 years at her alma mater, E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, followed by 10 years as a teacher/curriculum director for a private preschool in Forest. After 12 years of teaching, her family moved to Floyd where Larkin decided to become an Instructional Assistant so she could spend more time with her 2 very active sons and get involved in her new community. That decision led to 4 years in Special Education Preschool, followed by 3 years as a 1-on-1 aide to a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grader at Floyd Elementary School and chairman of numerous Floyd County committees. In August 2013, Larkin’s family moved to Galax and she commuted until March 2014 when she accepted a position at GES as a Pre-K Special Education Assistant. Through the years, she has independently attended several workshops and training related to students’ needs.

“I am passionate about helping students of all ages reach and perform at their fullest potential. I believe that what children experience during their early years affects their later success or failure in school, work, and personal lives.”

Larkin lives with her husband, Steve. They have 2 grown sons, Cole and Clif.
