Mrs. Ramey grew up in the Galax area and graduated from Carroll County High School in 1992. She continued her education at Wytheville Community College for one year before transferring to Bluefield College. She earned a B.S. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Bluefield College in 1995. Since beginning her teaching career she has completed additional coursework at Wytheville Community College, Radford University, University of Virginia, and Mary Washington University.

Mrs. Ramey began her teaching career at Galax Middle School in 1996. She has taught 8th grade Physical Science, 7th grade Life Science, and one year of sixth grade science. In addition to teaching Life Science daily, Mrs. Ramey teaches a Career Focus class to 7th grade students. Mrs. Ramey is also the middle school’s National Junior Honor Society Adviser.

“I truly enjoy teaching middle school students…there’s never a dull moment and always lots of entertainment! Seventh grade is a wonderful year for students. We learn about so many interesting topics. It’s also fun to see the world outside of the classroom with our students. Seventh graders participate in many ‘adventures’ throughout the year. I enjoy getting to know each of my students during the school year and also continuing to watch them grow and celebrate their accomplishments for years to come!”
